Acton Court, Whitehaven

Acton Court is a new-build two/three-storey residential development currently nearing completion adjacent to the historic Whitehaven Castle. The 12-dwelling project comprises two 3-bedroom houses, four 2-bedroom houses and six 2-bed apartments. The building is situated in an important Conservation Area setting and will form a prominent feature on the southern approach to Whitehaven. The plan arrangement of the building creates landscaped courts between the residential blocks. The external appearance of the development is sympathetic towards the Georgian character of the town, and was detailed in close liaison with the Local Planning Authority and English Heritage.
